Language Arts Kit B Diagnostic Tests and Answer Keys
DTKLA6-8y: Language Arts Kit B Diagnostic Tests and Answer Keys
"Where should my child start? Language Arts Kit A for 3-6-year-olds or Language Arts Kit B for 6-8-year-olds? Will I have to do all the lessons in Language Arts Kit B? Which ones can I safely skip?"
These questions are answered by taking the diagnostic tests for 1st through 4th graders.
Many parents who purchased ShillerLearning Language Arts started with these tests. Their children loved the approach and asked for more, which made the purchase decision risk-free.
Includes 4 tests + 4 prescriptive answer keys.
Included in ShillerLearning Language Arts Kit B and Language Arts Kit B Digital.
Purchase price is fully refunded when purchasing KLA-DL5-0306 or KLB-DL5-0608 within 30 days of download. Otherwise, due to the nature of downloadable content, returns are not accepted on digital items.
Why ShillerLearning diagnostic testing?
We do not want to make assumptions about what a student knows or doesn't know, so we recommend that the educator start each student, regardless of age (up to 12) years old), at the test from Book 1 (from the LA Kit A Tests) or the first test from this pack with the introduction, 'This should be really easy for you. Let's have some fun and see if you can get them all right.' One test for each language arts lesson book (5, 6, 7, and 8) is included in the diagnostic test download.
Check the answer key. If the student answers all the questions correctly, praise and move on to the next test. If a question is answered incorrectly, the answer key is prescriptive: it tells you exactly which lesson(s) will fill the hole identified by this question. You will see the list of lessons that teach the concept for that question right next to the question in parentheses. Best practice is to have the student do those activities before going to the next test (unless you are using the tests to decide between kit levels before purchasing).
When the student misses most of the questions on a test, stop testing. You have now identified exactly where he or she needs to be in the lesson book - and you have identified and filled all of the holes in his or her language arts foundation utilizing all four learning styles (visual, tactile, auditory, and kinesthetic).
