The Dual Axis “Smart” Solar Tracker is a beginner robotics project that can be put together with just a screwdriver. An ArduinoTM Uno clone takes readings from an array of four light dependent resistors and reorients the panel using two metal gear micro-servos. A built in voltmeter displays the panel’s production. The Dual Axis Tracker is designed as a non-soldering project. This project offers a lesson in solar energy, engineering, robotics, and programming.
